Sussie is doing very well!

Do you remember beautiful Sussie? The poor dog who was trapped in a fire when her families wooden shack burned down, rescued by neighbors and immediately brought to Swakop Vet Clinic by her elderly owner, who inhaled so much smoke, he had to go to the state hospital himself after he made sure Sussie received help?

We went to visit her a few weeks ago and she is doing great! Her skin healed nicely! Her hair will not grow back, but she doesn’t have pain, she has a nice shaded look out spot in her yard and her family is beyond happy!

Thank you so so much to Animal-Kind International for supporting the less fortunate dogs and cats in Namibia with an emergency medical care fund!! This means the world to Sussie, her family and all of us!

We got asked a few time who helped the family? We did, because we have a heart.

Have a Heart is a dog and cat project, but helping animals never works without supporting their humans as well. We organised wood and supplies to rebuild not only Sussie’s special area (to protect her from the sun until the skin is fully healed), also the family got a new shack and fence as well as clothing and some furniture. Thank you so much to everyone who donated towards them! Especially Sven for really stepping up and Leonard for putting in a lot of work and effort to help!!
