Have-a-Heart’s slogan is ‘saving lives through sterilisation’ but what does that really mean?
Within Namibia we have a huge pet overpopulation problem; all our SPCA’s are full to capacity, puppies and kittens are being dumped in rubbish bins by desperate owners who cannot look after them and healthy, young animals are euthanised on an alarmingly regular basis simply because there are not enough homes for them all.
By sterilising dogs and cats from low and no income families, families who would not be able to afford veterinary care otherwise, we are humanely and sustainably reducing stray animal populations and saving countless animals from miserable lives on the streets, or euthanasia.
