Nandoro is one of the many, many dogs in Omaruru who suffers with TVT…
A transmissible venereal tumor, or TVT, is a naturally occurring tumor that is sexually transmitted from one dog to another. TVT is usually seen in young, intact (non-neutered) dogs. It is 100 % preventable by having a dog sterilised before they start mating.
Luckily for Nandoro, TVT is treatable! The dog needs to be spayed or neutered and after that, a weekly injection from a vet over six weeks, is a very effective treatment.
When Mrs Rosalia heard, that a Have a Heart team started to work in Omaruru’s townships, she immediately asked for help for Nandoro and last week it was finally his turn to get neutered and also for his first injection!
We can’t wait to see Nandoro getting healthy and gaining weight again over the next few weeks!
Thank you everyone, from the bottom of our hearts, for supporting Have a Heart and giving dogs like Nandoro with caring owners like Rosalia from Namibia’s townships a second chance!!!
