Cat Neuter

Sometimes we get asked why do we also help male cats as they can’t get kittens, why not concentrating on females only?

One of the many reasons for us to get as many male cats sterilised as possible is the fact, that un-neutered male cats get in a lot of fights over females in heat. During those fights the cats often get injured badly. The urge to fight over females will be less a few weeks after the neuter operation.

This beautiful boy has been neutered during the last spay days in Keetmanshoop and he wounds heal and he hopefully can have a more peaceful life from now on!

Some more reasons to neuter male cats:
– they get vaccinated against rabies as well
– house cats also mate with the African Wild Cat and due to this, the African Wild Cat population is decreasing
– they mark their territory much less
